Now Sullair is part of the Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems Co., Ltd. compressor portfolio. And other machines are famous all over the world for their legendary durability. As the industry moves forward, Sullair will always be at the forefront with quality people, innovative solutions, and air compressors that are built to last. When you walk into the headquarters of Northwest Pump here in Portland, you are greeted by our receptionist who has been with the company for over 30 years now. The best part about our business is by far the people and relationships that come from them on a day-to-day basis. We have a few main goals when it comes to business, and customer service is at the top of that list. The other parts of our business include employee growth, encouragement, education and relationships. Without our employees we would not be where we are today.
As we look through the faces that have poured hours on end into this now employee-owned company, it is apparent that Northwest Pump’s people work for us as long as they do because we all share a common goal that “customer service comes first”. Although the company and it’s vision has gone through many changes in the last 60 years, that goal has still remained the same since the beginning.
We would like to thank all the people that work for us and to all our new staff for joining our family. We would also like to thank those people that have been here for 10+ years and are staples in our yearly success. We have lots to be thankful for and our employees without a doubt are at the top of our list!
It is with great honor that Northwest Pump accepted one of the 2019 Industrial Water & Wastes Digest Top Project Awards on September 23rd at the WEFTEC Conference in Chicago, IL. It was a labor of love and a whole team effort that got this project up and running this past summer in such a short amount of time. A special thanks to our Lead Engineer, David Bynum, for taking charge of this project and working directly with PGE Beaver Power Plant.
Project Overview:
In June 2019 Northwest Pump had the pleasure of working on the PGE Beaver Power Plant in Clatskanie, Oregon. PGE Power is a 500-megawatt combined-cycle natural gas plant and 24.8-megawatt steam turbine that has been operating since 1976.
Northwest Pump provided the design, equipment, fabrication, and installation for the replacement of three outdated failing sewage lift stations. Each lift station was completed within an 8-10 hour workday as to not disrupt their operations. The job needed significant advanced planning as the remote site required safety meetings and special requirements.
Complete Demolition of old equipment and installation of new equipment within a 3-day span
Our innovative design of the guide rail system allowed a safer and less intrusive installation of the Quick Disconnect Elbows to the bottom of the lift station. Base elbows, piping, and valves are pre-assembled and were mounted to a common stainless steel plate. This assembly was then lowered as a complete unit in the water well.
New custom stainless steel hatch covers and control panels were also installed with an extended vent pipe. The extended pipe works to prevent personnel from being overwhelmed with odors from the lift station. This large concern was something that has been a huge help to everyone that works on this job site.

EMV payments leverage a computer chip located on the front of the payment card to transmit data from the card to the card reader. This chip calculates a unique data packet for each transaction reducing the value of any data that can be stolen out of a payment system.
What is the April 2021 deadline?
On April 17, 2021 card issuing banks will NO LONGER absorb chargebacks from fraudulent transactions that occur at the gas dispensers who are not EMV compliant. This is why EMV chip readers will be vital when it comes to credit card fraud and chargebacks OR your business will be absorbing the financial blow without any further assistance from the banks.
What are the benefits?
1. Improved security (plus fraud reduction).
2. Reduced cost of chargebacks by avoiding the liability shift.
3. Customer card security.
4. Brand protection.
The EMV Deadline will be here before you know it and trust us you don’t want to wait. Although waiting until April might seem like the best option, we can assure you there are plenty of reasons that you should go ahead and take care of this now!
Why buy in 2020 vs. 2021?
Prices will increase on products by 2-5%.
Delivery time will increase in 2021.
There will be a shortage of technicians in 2021.
Northwest Pump can offer you financing now through Patriot Capital to get your purchase in this year.
There will be a tax advantage in 2020.
For more information on EMV, the deadline and products you will need CLICK HERE.
Contact sales@nwpump.com or call 1-800-452-PUMP and let us handle all your EMV needs this year before you are pushed to the back of the line!
